Walking football is a modified version of the beautiful game that is gaining popularity in Torbay, especially among stroke survivors.
Stroke Torbay, a local support group for stroke survivors, has recognized the numerous physical and mental health benefits that walking football can provide.
By playing this low-impact sport, stroke survivors can improve their cardiovascular fitness, balance, and coordination. It also helps them regain confidence and socialize with others who have had similar experiences.
Furthermore, walking football allows stroke survivors to engage in physical activity at their own pace, reducing the risk of injury and ensuring a safe environment.
Stroke Torbay encourages stroke survivors to participate in walking football as a means to enhance their overall well-being and enjoy the camaraderie that comes with being part of a team.

SUPPORTERS AND SURVIVORS COFFEE MORNING
The Stroke Torbay Support Group is dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing space for stroke survivors and their supporters. We understand that the journey to recovery can be challenging, not only for the survivors but also for their loved ones who play a crucial role in their rehabilitation.
That's why we have introduced the Supporters and Survivors Coffee Morning, which runs concurrently with our Men's Coffee Morning. This initiative allows the supporters of stroke survivors to attend without having to take additional time out of their already demanding supporting role.
At this event, supporters can connect with others who understand the challenges they face in their supporting role and find comfort in knowing they are not alone in their journey.
It is a wonderful opportunity to exchange stories, offer advice, and gain valuable insights from others who have been through similar experiences.
We believe that by creating a supportive community, we can help both supporters and survivors navigate the challenges of stroke recovery with strength and resilience.
